Incumbent

The Reverend Canon John Wilker-Blakley

The Parish of St. Matthias is very pleased to welcome John Wilker-Blakley as our incumbent effective Thursday, January 16, 2014.

John comes to us from his previous Parish of Bearbrook, Vars and Navan. He was also Regional Dean of the Ottawa East Deanery and is a member of the Cathedral Chapter as the Canon of St. David.

John was ordained in this Diocese in 1983 and has served All Saints' Westboro; the Parish of Wakefield with Lascelles in West Quebec; St. Barnabas in Deep River; and St. Michael and All Angels in Ottawa.

John is married to Wendy, who is a high school teacher. They have three adult children: Bronwyn (studying music at Wilfred Laurier); Jenna (studying psychology at Carleton); and Alex (pursuing film studies at Carleton).

John enjoys the outdoors, particularly time at his cottage and on the water. He is also pleased to renew familial ties at St. Matthias through his cousin.

We look forward to his arrival and working with him!
