Our Sunday School is a small but enthusiastic group!
Sunday School is every Sunday, except for the 3rd Sunday of the month, during the 10:30 am service. Children are with the Congregation at the beginning of the service, and re-join the congregation for the Eucharist.
The curriculum used is a subscription-based, on-line service from the Whole People of God. It provides lesson plans for all ages and they are very easy to follow and implement. The readings and lessons provided are divided into various age groups. Each lesson also provides multiple activities that you can choose from. It can be a craft, a game, etc. The lessons also tie into each other from week to week, building on the learning.
We love having new visitors and/or volunteers in the Sunday School. If you are interested in teaching or would like to share a talent, interest, or skill it would be very welcome. It could be singing, crafting or anything you would like to share. For more information email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Sunday School Fun to date:
Intergenerational Services: To date, the children have participated in 3 Intergenerational Services. The children really liked that there was a special Sermon for them. They also take pride and really enjoy being the sidespeople for the day!
Christmas Pageant: Back by popular demand, the Sunday School performed their pageant this year. It was a great success with more children than adults participating this year! The music for the pageant was provided by Paul, who played Silent Night and from our organist, Deirdre Piper.
Christmas Eve Family Service: Students of the Sunday School had an active role in this popular Christmas Eve Service. They played music, sang and read the gospel and prayers of the people. During the last hymn, all children were invited to the front to play an instrument and sing...it was truly a blessing to have so many children participating!
Contributing to the Lenten Project: The Sunday School decorated and sold cupcakes at the Souper Sunday on February 8th. All monies raised were donated to the Lenten Project.
